Disclaimer: The information contained on this website is compiled of information on alternative treatments that I have used since my MS symptoms began in 1975. Some have helped my MS quite a bit, that does not  mean that they will help yours. They are mostly anecdotal evidence and you should seek the counsel of your physician before starting any new treatments.

09-19-08    I have admittedly been very lax with getting on my rebounder and using it on a regular basis. However when my legs feel as weak as they have been since I've not been using the vaccine I often feel pretty unsteady and am chicken to push it too much. The last thing I want to do is hurt myself, then it would take even longer to recover from this disease. At the moment I weaned off the prednisone so I am only treating my MS through diet. I'm confident that will work but it will also take several more years. I look back and want to kick myself for not sticking to this new way of eating decades ago. It is what it is, can't go back in time so I will just get with it, get on that rebounder and move forward. If you are not sure what the heck cellular exercise is here is a basic definition from the "father" of rebounding, Albert E. Carter. I just read it again and will definitely get back to it! Here's the link; Cellular exercise. Especially reading about vision, I need glasses now and my vision seems to be getting worse so I will get off my big butt and step up on the rebounder which has a bar on it for me to hold onto. My brother Brian the part time personal trainer gave the rebounder to me a few years ago. I am feeling a bit more able than last year when I was primarily using my manual wheelchair. I am still able to walk with my cane but not as much as when I was using the Immunosyn vaccine. I'll get jumping! Have a good weekend! ~ Lisa

06-01-07    People who have claimed MS healing through rebounding & diet are;

Linda Brooks - Celeste Veld - Maria

I will now be diligent about my rebounding! I am still just using the health bounces where my feet do not leave the mat, my legs and balance are not strong enough for that yet...but they will be.  I do these health bounces several times a day, but I am also cautious to listen to my body and not over do it, I do not want to injure myself and set back my progress.  The new way of eating will also be a constant, and I will definitely have the Immuno1 Bloodprint blood test done that will test my body for 115 different foods that I maybe allergic to.  I need to save up the money first, but will have it done ASAP.  Check your local Labs for a price. This is the name of the current book on another woman who claims cure from MS, that for her turned out to be Candida, which I also believe is a problem for me. Ann Boroch  I will of course keep using the SF1019 vaccine but I really feel that changing my diet will help move things along as well!  Never give up!!!

06-22-07    It has been very warm here and I have been having several bouts with vertigo so I have been quite cautious with the rebounding, if I'm not feeling confident about the possibility of hurting myself, I do not jump. I do a couple health bounces on those days that I feel certain I will not hurt myself.  In 1984 I broke my right ankle during an aerobics class and so I guess I'm a bit overly cautious about that now, I can't imagine how hard it would be to tackle that now a days and do not want to find out!  I know it is a long way away, but I am looking forward to Autumn!

07-06-07     It has been quite cool here lately for July, though the 90's are on their way in a day or so.  No vertigo thank goodness, I believe that happened because of the diet change and the kill off of the Candida. I am rebounding as much as feels comfortable according to the amount of sleep I get, though the rebounding seems easier and my legs are absolutely feeling stronger, slowly but surely.  In my heart I absolutely believe that this dietary change will help my body to heal, it won't happen overnight and maybe not for a few years, but doing the Candida Saliva test I can see that the dietary changes are making a difference, there was one string trying to form the last time I took this test before that there were several.  I still have cloudy specks, but I know this is simply going to take time to clear up, I have been eating yeast laden foods since the day I was born so this is not going to go away overnight. I know rebounding helps in removing these toxins by getting your lymph system pumping and releasing them from your body. All in due time.

07-27-07     I have been walking around in the house much more often.  I do still start the day using the wheelchair because I do not feel my body is in sync with my brain enough to get around safely.  I do still use the rebounder, but lately when I start bouncing my right ankle feel a bit uncomfortable (that is the ankle I broke in '84) so I am not over doing it.  I feel great!

09-14-07     I have recently been better about using the rebounder more often, my legs were feeling a bit tired one day last month and I ended up tripping myself a bit on the "lip" of the rebounder.  I have gotten on there today because I slept very well and feel more comfortable  using it.   I have been walking a lot more and often with no cane at all, so that is pretty exciting.  The weather is much cooler as well, that helps too!

10-12-07     I have not been consistent with the rebounder, now that I am able to walk more with the cane and no wheelchair, I prefer to walk.   Waking also circulates the lymph fluid and I love being able to walk!  I will rebound sometime but I'm so excited to be able to walk with my cane consistently!

10-19-07     I started today being more consistent with the rebounder!  I'm also walking more within my house, my wonderful son AJ double checked my counting of the amount of steps I took taking one lap from the computer room, to the living room, to the kitchen, to the back room and back to the computer room...98 steps!  I have used the rebounder twice today, holding onto the balance bar, I bend each knee and alternating legs, I did 150 "steps", twice today.  I will at some point do health bounces, but I always listen to my body and I feel it is time to rest until tomorrow.

The "father" of Reboundology is Al Carter. His book about the evolution of Rebounding is called "The new miracles of Rebound Exercise", I am still reading that one it is truly fascinating.  From his book is a quote "...All of Carter's research is scientifically and medically documented. The data presented in this book has been confirmed by NASA, the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Kenneth Cooper's Institute of Aerobic Research, and the Hong Kong University.  In addition, Carter has consulted with NASA in the preparation of an advanced rebounding exercise program for use in the zero gravity of space, recognized as necessary to prevent the loss of bone mass suffered by our astronauts in past space explorations." ....Awesome!, I say. You can read more about him at www.reboundair.com/aboutus.htm

During a recent posting I made, I received several responses about finding less expensive rebounders. The rebounders that I list above are made of high quality with a 5 - 10 year warrantee. The Needak is made in USA.  But, if you need to look for something less expensive, you can find them in some department stores or even on EBay, but keep in mind that those ones are not made as well, these are often made and sold as a child's toy.  I saw some of the Needaks for sale on EBay.com.   Best wishes ~Lisa

Another exercise I use is the Rebounder my brother Brian and my mom gave me for my birthday this past February.  It is a type of "mini-trampoline" with a cross bar so I can hang on to since my balance is pretty much shot. Below are some examples.

My brother Brian Quick is a personal trainer, he is the one who told me about rebounding.  The links will explain better, but I'll try to explain the gist of it.  If I understand correctly, our lymphatic system is responsible for sending nutrients through the body and for flushing toxins out of the body. But the lymphatic system does not have a pump like our cardiovascular system has with the heart.  The jumping motion that is done on the rebounder acts like a pump for the lymphatic system.  I'm not sure I can explain this very well, so I'm going to copy some portions of a really great book on rebounding that Brian gave me.  The book is called "Rebounding to Better Health - A Practical Guide to the Ultimate Exercise" by Linda Brooks, Certified Reboundologist.

"The rebounder can act as your lymph pump.  At the bottom of the bounce, the gravitational pull closes the valves, but at the top of the bounce the pressure is decreased and the centrifugal force of your falling allows the lymph to flow up.   Because the lymph is flowing and waste is leaving, the body has a need for more white blood cells.   In a few minutes of health bouncing, the white blood cells are increased as much as three fold." Below is a drawing from Linda's book depicting this action.

Today, I got on my rebounder and did some "health bounces" those are bounces where the feet stay in contact with the mat since I'm unable to bounce high enough yet.  Same lymphatic pump action as the bounces where your feet leave the rebounder surface.  So this exercise is truly for everyone.  Another way could be having a bouncing buddy who does the bouncing on the rebounder while you stay seated on the rebounder surface at the same time.

I really recommend getting a copy of Linda's book, you can reach her here;
